Supervision and mentoring
As a supervisor I tend to work in a very organic flexible way according to the needs of the supervisee. Similar to homeopathic case taking it is an intimate conversation respectfully boundaried.
The supervisors role…
- Support students in case studies and reflective processes
- To give feedback to candidates in the Registration Programme
- Provide support in difficult cases
- Objectively reflect patient-homeopath interactions
- Identify recurring patterns to raise awareness
- Help understand the dynamic between practitioner and patient
Reflective Supervision and Mentoring & Support For
- New colleagues (continuing supervision)
- Students during their diploma
- Colleagues in practice
- Co-supervision
Successful Supervision Should Make You
- Feel at ease with the supervision process
- Challenge and reflect on your patient approach
- Receive clear facilitation and feedback
- Clarify objectives in working with patients
- Be actively involved in supervision
- Understand evaluation criteria for work and patient management
Frequency
For newly qualified homeopaths or those in a registration program.
The programme itself will dictate frequency.
If you are setting up your practice supervision will be helpful. It will allow you to give formal time to reflect on all aspects of your practice and hang words around those thoughts flying around.
As a more experienced homeopath you will know when you need supervision or you may like to build regular support into your practice.
The SOH has today instigated a supportive supervision process for newly qualified homeopaths.
